Another train wreck song based on actual events involving the Chesapeake & Ohio (C & O) Railway. The tragedy occurred on October 6, 1920 and it involved the luxury passenger train known as the Sportsman, which ran daily between Cincinnati and Washington D.C. The train derailed and an engineer named Dolly Womack was burned to death.

This song begins "From Washington to Charlottesville then Staunton on the line..." Cleburne C. Meeks this song and Carson Robison composed the music. They had previously collaborated on Meeks' other train song, Billy Richardson's Last Ride.

Note: This song is similar to the much more well known song, The Wreck on the C & O (but it involved a different train wreck).
