Blues guitarist and singer, also playing bass. After leaving American Blues (and being replaced by Billy Gibbons, leading to ZZ Top), he, besides rarely recording on his own name, played in live bands backing John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, Freddie King, Jimmy Reed, Townes van Zandt (with whom he co-wrote a couple of song) et al. and became known as a 'devilish' performer.
