- Country singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to Nashville where he became a member of The Nite Owls, the studio band for the Tennessee and Jamboree labels. (This group included several artists who would become well-known including songwriter Boudleaux Bryant [fiddle], Billy Byrd [steel guitar], Roy Hall [piano], and Del Wood [piano].) Flatt also recorded under his own name for the Jamboree, Tennessee, Republic, and Mercury labels.
