- Anonymous studio recording artists, but probably Detlef Quast and Thomas Waßkönig. The name is the German version of "Les Schtroumpfs" (Dutch: Smurfen), a Belgian comic franchise centered on a fictional colony of small blue anthropomorphous creatures who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. "The Smurfs" franchise began as a comic and expanded into music advertising, films, TV series, ice capades, video games, theme parks, and dolls.
