- US label based in Queens, New York. Formed in 1958 by Rene Jan van Hoogten as a US imprint of the Belgian Ronnex Records label. Finding little success there, the label's founder changed his name to Ray Maxwell and re-established the label in Hollywood, CA. After signing the The Paramours - who less than two years later became The Righteous Brothers - Moonglow had finally landed itself a marketable & successful act. The label's success proved to be short-lived. In 1964, The Righteous Bothers were signed by Phil Spector's Philles Records. By 1967, Maxwell sold his label's catalog to Verve Records and his studio to RCA in 1969.
