The Festival Folclórico de Parintins (aka Festival do Boi-Bumbá, Bumba Meu Boi) is a popular annual celebration held in the Brazilian city of Parintins in the last weekend of June.
During the Festival, two groups, Boi Garantido and Boi Caprichoso, compete in a stage called "Bumbódromo". The groups perform thematic shows (temática) based on traditonal Brazilian culture and folklore. In 1993 the Festival was won by Boi Garantido with their temática "Amazon River, this river is my life".
