Here are a few more:

Laura Branigan's "Gloria" based on Umberto Tozzi's "Gloria" originally in Italian.

Grassroots "Bella Linda" based on an Italian original "Balla Linda," not sure of the original artist.

Tokens' "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" based on Solomon Linda's "Mbube" in a South African languauge, possibly Sotho, and it got there via the Weavers' "Wimoweh."

"Seasons in the Sun" (as you mention) was done first by Terry Jacks, and the lyrics are an English translation by Rod McKuen of Jacques Brels' French song s "Le Moribond."

I collect original foreign language versions of songs which become hits in uk when translated into english and covered. I have several mentioned in this thread, plus:

There's many that were Spanish language originals

All alone am I by Brenda Lee is from a Greek song (learned that right here on SHS)
