Came across this tune tonight on a Myron Floren album and managed to track down the author and lyrics, but can't find much info on it. It's apparently a fairly old tune as I found a recording from 1905 on Discogs, but haven't been able to find any info on the author or origins of this song. It's also known as "Trink ma noch ein Tröpfchen" (depending on which part of Germany the recording artist was from I assume). Anyone have any leads?

Hello Michael,

The music was written by Wilhelm Hinsch. The original Austrian lyrics were written by Josef Modl.

In the original lyrics "ein Tröpfchen" (a drop) was not enough, they drink "a Flascherl" (a bottle).

And the girl in the original lyrics wasn't named Susanna, but Susi.

I made a cover submission: https://secondhandsongs.com/submission/88353
