Here are some markup rules which can be used when formatting messages in the forum, submissions, comments & editor notes.

URL Links

Bare links are converted to HTML links.

Use [[link|link text]] for links with a link text.

Example: [[https://secondhandsongs.com|The Second Hand Songs homepage]] returns The Second Hand Songs homepage

Use [[object|id|link text]] for links to songs, artists, mediums and labels in our database.

Example: [[performance|63296|Crazy by Gnarls Barkley]] returns Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

Example: [[artist|41|The Beatles]] returns The Beatles

Example: [[release|4357|Kind of Blue by Miles Davis]] returns Kind of Blue by Miles Davis

Example: [[label|656|Columbia]] returns Columbia

Images

Image URLs ending with .jpg, .gif and .png are shown as images by default.

Example: https://secondhandsongs.com/art/logo_small.gif returns https://secondhandsongs.com/art/logo_small.gif

Images can also be attached while posting the message.

Lists

Use * for unordered lists.
