Comic duet added to Act II of Offenbach's 1859 operetta "Geneviève de Brabant" in the new 1867 version Geneviève de Brabant [1867] and sung by the characters the two gendarmes Grabuge and Pitou. It is also known as "Gendarmes' duet"
The music was later adapted by the US Marine Corps for the "Marines' Hymn" (a.k.a. "From the Halls of Montezuma"). - Licensing
