Bluegrass trio consisting of Billy Edwards (banjo), John Palmer (bass), and Clarence "Tater" Tate (guitar/fiddle), all of whom were part of Red Smiley's Bluegrass Cut-Ups band.

They also recorded with Herschel Sizemore (mandolin), who also was a former Bluegrass Cut-Up, and billed themselves as The Shenandoah Valley Quartet.

Note: Jim Eanes recorded with Quartet on a 1970 album and several years later billed some of his albums to Jim Eanes and The Shenandoah Valley Quartet, which was a completely unrelated band.
