- Contemporary composer and lyricist, who created more than 1000 works. Theodorakis was famous for his soundtracks, a. o. "Alexis Sorbas" and "Serpico", but also for orchestral and operatric compositions like "Canto General" or "Mauthausen Trilogy". He was also politically active and a member of parliament three times.The Greek junta (1967–1974) imprisoned Theodorakis' and banned his songs.
