- George Hoven was born in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania and lived his life in Chester, Pennsylvania (both near Philadelphia). He owned a music store and taught piano and accordion. Hoven was a prolific composer of polkas, obereks and waltzes. However, he is best known for writing the music to "(It's No) Sin," the song that launched the career of the Four Aces.
