- Founder of the traditional country/old time music music group, The Pickard Family. Pickard played harmonica, Jew's harp and violin. He was also a singer. After his 1926 appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, he became the first singing star on WSM, the home of the Grand Ole Opry. Pickard also appeared in a few films.
