- Jazz singer and lyricist from Detroit, who with Leroy Mitchell, met Sheila Jordan when the latter moved to Detroit as a teenager. The trio formed a jazz singing group in 1948, Skeeter, Mitch, and Jean (from Jordan's middle name), and Jordan credits Spight and Mitchell with teaching her how to scat. The group foreshadowed Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. Although the group never recorded, it did sit-in with various national jazz artists when they came through Detroit, including Charlie Parker. Jordan moved to New York City in about 1950, fed up with the racism in Detroit. No information was uncovered about Spight or Mitchell after Jordan left for New York.
