- In English: Watching the White Wheat. A popular love song, first published in "Ancient National Airs of Gwent and Morganwg" as one of the collection of Maria Jane Williams. The tune in that publication was stated to have been used to carry several different song lyrics but has since become firmly associated with this particular ballad. The lyric, meanwhile, had been recorded in an earlier manuscript associated with a different melody, named by Iolo Morganwg (Edward Williams) as "Pebyll Penon".
