Traditional song first recorded in 1927 by the Carolina Tar Heels as "Good-Bye, My Bonnie, Good-Bye". Recorded in 1936 by the Carter Family and A.P. Carter registered it as his own work (as he always did) so often incorrectly thought to be their original.
NOTE: This song is intertwined with the traditional song There's More Pretty Girls Than One. They share the exact same tune and a similar theme. Fresno State has the two songs combined. The Seegers version uses the lyrics of both songs. - Licensing
