- Written for the 1929 operetta Das Land des Lächelns and sung by the character Sou-Chong. The musical core of this Richard Tauber song comes from a short piece of incidental music Lehár wrote in 1923 for another operetta "Die gelbe Jacke". In fact, "Das Land des Lächelns" is a revised version of "Die gelbe Jacke" with a different libretto.
