Big band and pop singer from Miami, Florida. He sang with Glen Gray and Ray Anthony in the 1940s. By the late 1940s he recorded under his own name. In 1956 he was stricken with polio. He was paralyzed from the neck down and was in an iron lung for more than a year. Although restricted to a wheel chair, he was able to resume his career singing and appearing on television.
